Funeral Cover Who can get insured:
Any South African
who requires a funeral policy OR
Non South Africans with:
• A valid South African Passport
• South African Bank account
Funeral Cover Rates:
Benefit Premium
R 7 500.00 R 79.00
R 15 000.00 R 143.00
R 25 000.00 R 188.00
Funeral Policy Waiting periods:
•Natural Causes – 6 months for main member, spouse and children
• Unnatural Causes – After 1st premium was received
• Suicide – 24 months
Cancellation:
Cancelation must be done in writing by giving 30 days notice
Non-payment of the policy, after proper notification was followed and a formal cancelation letter
Funeral Policy Important terms and conditions:
• Persons must be reminded that this is a funeral plan and
Entry ages to policy:
Minimum: -18 years of age Maximum entry age and cover:
18 – 75 years for maximum cover of R 7 500.00 @ R 79.00 per month
18 – 69 years of maximum cover of R 15 00.00 @ R 143.00 per month
18 – 65 years for maximum cover of R 25 000.00 @ R 188.00 per month
The claim process for Funeral cover:
• In the event of a claim, the specified benefit will be paid to the beneficiary or the estate of the
deceased insured
• Claim must be reported to the underwriters within 12 (twelve) months of the date of the death
• Claims are submitted via Oakfields Administration Pty Ltd, the intermediary, to the underwriter
• Oakfields Administration Pty Ltd to ensure that the claim form is completed, and that all supporting
documentation are attached
• Fully completed claim form
(completed document with all supporting documentation, speeds up the payment of the claim)
– The member application form showing registered dependants (for dependant claims only)
• A certified ID copy of the deceased/insured
• A certified ID copy of the claimant/beneficiary
• A police statement, in the event of unnatural causes
• Any other documentation that might be required by the underwriter.
